SUSPEND DEBUTS "ACROSS THE STREET" PHOTO SHOW AT MORTAR TOKYO

SUSPEND Magazine held its first photo show in Tokyo – the first of two – this past weekend at Mortar, a boutique skate shop in Shibuya. The two-story skate shop with its own Mortar Coffee cafe upstairs recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. Offering brands such as Carhartt WIP, By Parra, and Stone Island, it was only fitting to bring our “Across the Street” photo exhibition to the Shibuya skate shop.

"ACROSS THE STREET"

Randy Nakajima and SUSPEND’s Diane Abapo presented “Across the Street” – a series of photographs by each photographer showcasing street culture’s global reach. Both photographers' work exemplified the diverse youth culture in Los Angeles with select photography featured in issues of SUSPEND Magazine along with never-before-seen imagery  shared for the first time in Tokyo. Even though Los Angeles is across the globe, the facets of street culture documented by each photographer can be akin to just being – across the street.
