SUSPEND Magazine had the pleasure of attending the fourth annual Los Angeles Art Book Fair (LAABF) held once again at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Geffen Contemporary in LA’s Japantown. While chatting with publications such as STEiDL, Dalphine, and Paper Monument, a common topic was the the large turnout. The LAABF is free and open to the public and received over 34,000 patrons over its three and a half day stint last year.

It's a beautiful feeling to experience walking through the fair completely surrounded by others that share a mutual love for tangible publications. You can't help but notice the relationship between someone opening a book and their eyes lighting up, the uncontrollable smiles, the urgency of getting a friend's attention to share with – or all of the bubbly conversation that boil down to ink on paper that happen to be bound together. If you missed out on the fair this year (bummer!), don't worry, it'll be back in 52 weeks.
