SUSPEND MAGAZINE: Hello! What is your full name and where are you from?Kristin Zakala and I'm from Alberta, Canada .
What are your must-have travel items? A camera, The Secret, my iPod, green tea and my journal!
How did you get into modeling? A photographer approached me at the [Calgary] Stampede in my hometown.
Is this your first time in Milan? Yes!
Is this your first time in Milan? My family came all the way from Canada to visit me, and we climbed to the top of the Duomo together on a really sunny day. You can see the Swiss Alps from the top... It was gorgeous.
What’s your favourite item of clothing you own? A Nirvana concert t-shirt.
What has been your career highlight so far? Meeting Donnatella at the Versace rehearsal.
What would you be doing if you weren’t modeling? Hmm... I would probably be back home in University and back in Ballet doing an exam.
Best beauty tip? I get really dark circles under my eyes, so I soak green tea bags in water and then put them on my eyes! Haha.
Do you have any backstage rituals you perform before a runway show? Backstage I always dance around to the music! Other models usually dance too and we all loosen up and have fun before the show. If I am super nervous I close my eyes and take really deep breaths to calm down.
What was the last song you listened to?'Late July' by Shakey Graves.
Last movie you watched?Mine..It's so sad.
Last book you read?The Catcher in the Rye
Last thing you cooked?Lentils, spinach, chickpeas,tuna and broccoli.
How do you cope with being homesick? I skype my family! If I can't skype then I look at pictures of my family and friends and listen to happy music.
Where do you feel most SUSPEND-ed? Either dancing or hiking in the mountains back home.
