Heron Preston Debuts "UNIFORM" Collaboration with DSNY for Upcycled Uniforms

Last night (September 7) artist and designer Heron Preston debuted his partnership with the NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY) for his latest fashion collaboration, “UNIFORM”, a collection series of DSNY merchandise and workwear essentials. Using up-cycled clothing and archived DSNY uniforms, Preston gives a revived meaning to the DSNY logo in a new powerful context. According to Vogue.com, the sight of a plastic bag in the ocean in Ibiza led Preston to contact the City’s Sanitation Department in hopes of inciting more environmental consciousness of keeping the city clean through a collaborative process.

Guests that attended Preston’s unveiling of “UNIFORM” included Chloe Norgaard, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School, Lucien Smith, Luka Sabbat, A$AP Ferg, Dev Hynes, Lucas and Jillian of Lion Babe, Jessica Lownes, and Waris Ahluwalia among others.
